Welcome to Sri Subramanyaswamy Temple, a spiritual sanctuary nestled in the heart of Basaveshwaranagar, Bengaluru. Established over four decades ago as a humble temporary prayer shed, this sacred space has blossomed into a magnificent, sculpted temple complex today. Built entirely on the foundation of public devotion, selfless service, and the generous contributions of devotees, the temple stands as a vibrant beacon of faith, drawing thousands who seek peace, healing, and divine blessings.
When you step into our serene premises, you are welcomed by the powerful divine presence of:
Balamuri Sri Mahaganapathi — The benevolent remover of all obstacles.
Sri Subramanyaswamy — Consecrated beautifully alongside His divine consorts, Sri Valli and Sri Devasena.
Sri Parvathi Devi — The compassionate Mother Goddess.
The Navagrahas — The nine planetary deities arranged to bestow cosmic balance and peace.
What makes our temple uniquely profound is a divine occurrence rooted right at its inception:
The Sacred Anthill & The Dual Idols: The main deity of Lord Subramanyaswamy is consecrated precisely on the sacred ground where a natural anthill (Hutta) once existed. Furthermore, during the temple’s early years, a smaller, original idol of the Lord was scheduled to be immersed in water (Vivarjana) according to tradition. However, deep astrological guidance revealed that the divine presence wished to remain on this holy ground. Today, in a rare spiritual marvel, both the original small idol and the magnificent new main idol are kept and worshipped together inside the sanctum sanctorum (Garbhagriha)

Our temple’s journey from a modest structure to an architectural marvel is a testament to unwavering devotion:
The Humble Beginning: Commenced operations over 40 years ago in a small temporary shed to serve local devotees.
Pratishtapana Mahotsava (1997): On Monday, June 16, 1997, the grand consecration of the deities was performed by the holy hands of Jagadguru Sri Sri Sri Balagangadharanatha Swamiji (Adichunchanagiri Math) and Sri Sri Siddhalinga Swamiji (Siddaganga Math).
Mandaladhana Kumbhabhisheka (1997): Completed on Friday, August 8, 1997, in the divine presence of Padma Vibhushan Dr. Sri D. Veerendra Heggade of Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala.
The Majestic Rajagopura (2009): To mark the temple’s 12th anniversary, a breathtaking 30-feet tall Rajagopura—comprising 5 tiers, 5 sacred kalasas, and 83 intricately carved divine sculptures—was inaugurated by Dr. Sri Shivakumara Swamiji (Siddaganga Math) and Dr. Sri Balagangadharanatha Swamiji.
Rajatha Mahotsava (2022): Celebrated 25 years of glorious spiritual service with state grandeur on July 5, 2022, in the presence of eminent spiritual leaders and ministers.
Recent Sacred Adornments (2024–2026): Following the installation of the Garuda Kamba, a sacred Panchaloha (five-metal) casing was adorned to it on February 13, 2026. On the very same day, a massive 60 kg Panchaloha Bell was offered to Lord Subramanyaswamy to resonate divine vibrations through the town.
The temple conducts daily poojas, special sevas, abhishekas, and spiritual programs with dedication and devotion, preserving the rich traditions of Sanatana Dharma. Major festivals such as Subramanya Shashti and other auspicious occasions are celebrated with great devotion and community participation.
